It is one of the best software firewalls, and it is easy to uninstall should you not like it. I would recommend it as my first choice. Then there is Kerio which is very good too. When their new version that is in the final stages of beta testing comes out, it will my first choice as it is really nice. I have been using it for a month now, and it is nice and very easy to use, yet very you can configure it to do just about anything you want. Then there is good old Zone Alarm, which is very effective and easy to use, but runs deep into your system and can be difficult to uninstall, it is easier to remove that it used to be though. Try wilders.org, PC Flank, thepublicworks and Gibson Research for more recommendations. Take care and all the best!
