Comment:

In the last few days my DSL connection speed has considerably slowed down. I find myself repairning my connection often.

I have noticed 16 different UDP ports open that never were before. Ports like 55237, 24523 and such. They all say svchost.

Any suggestions as to what this might be.

Thanks in advance

Thanks but when I tried the tasklist it told me it wasn't recognized. Any other suggestions

Re #1. Written around XP Pro it seems. Got the same on my XP Home SP2.

Might be worth running this freebie while waiting for further advice:

Most likely. I'm wondering if I got a spambot? My connection has like totally sucked for several days.

Thanks XpUser. Does it matter that I disabled all those ports in the network properties/settings? Should I turn them back on to use that tool?

I won't play Russian roulette with genuine svchost processes because doing so will cause Windows to behave too unpredictible.

It seems my bandwith has severly slowed to a trickle. Something is hogging it up. Any suggestions what it could be?
