Specs: Windows Vista
i have a vista and its about 2 1/2 years old. about a week ago it started suddenly shutting down with no warning and not with the shutdown process it was on one second and off the next. i checked the power supply got a new hard drive reinstalled vista 4 times and wiped all the files on the hard drive. i cant find any problems and the reason im thinking virus is that every time it shuts off when we get it going agian our nortan security suite sais that the virus definitions are missing and to reinstall them. so we reinstall and it starts all over agian.

Make sure it is not a heat issue by checking the cpu temp in the bios. Could also be bad memory
