Hi everyone,
this might be a stupid quiestion, but still:
I need to connect to a switch to set it on managed mode and start snmp. OK, I turned to minicom for a serial p2p connection. But when to start it gives "no //dev/modem device" an it stopps. I do not need a modem!
Another thing: when using my onl modem I saw some command to the modem like "AT" or so I remember, cut this time I use a switch. Is there a prebuuilt script? schould I dial phone numbers or what?
Or is there another program that does exactly the job I need? Putty for windows I could not (don't kno how) set up for starting a telnet session over the serial port.
Any suggestions, ideas, answers or links to useful documentatin is greatly apreciated.
NOTE: I coul just start a google, but I just have no time for searching the best documentation for this, so I turned to you guys!
Thanks.
Alex,

Please move this message to Linux or Networking forum. This has nothing to do with security and viri. :-)
