I got a strange alert - when I opened IE6, ZA asked for permission for Object: 8002870c to access the internet, IP address 127.0.0.1 port 4507. I clicked no then IE would not open. I closed IE, looked at the ZAP log, it has that same thing in the program list. And it says invalid date, file size 0 KB.
I looked a the start ups in msconfig and did not see anything new, or in running processes in the system utility tool.
I ran spybot and it didn't find anything new. I did a search for that file and it didn't find it. IE opened the next time I tried it and no alert.
Can anyone explain this? Or heard of this before? I'll do a google search and see if I find anything too. I'm running Swat-IT and will run my av too.
I didn't do anything unusual before that happened.
Thanks in advance.

I just joined this user group, so I'm new to the message posting protocol. I use Zone Alarm Pro and frequently research the source of access attempts. I recently experienced a situation where I was bombarded by porno pop up ads - faster than I could close them. During the bombardment, Zone Alarm Pro became temporarily disabled. I tried to re-load it from Program Files and it didn't re-load. I re-started my computer and ZAP appeared to load at startup, however when I checked the configuration, my configuration was changed. Programs that I specifically denied access to were permitted access to my computer. New programs I had never seen before were also shown as having access. I reported this to Zone Labs. It appears (to me, anyway) that someone has found a way to disable Zone Alarm and reconfigure it. Maybe I should just post this message instead of replying to your original message.

You should always start a new thread for a new problem. Don't ad to someone else's thread unless you are responding to their post. This is so you will get the help you need.
