spywareblaster not running

OS: win 98 se
CPU/Ram: 64mb

when i run spywareblaster it says that "This program has been damaged, possibly by a bad sector of the hard drive or a virus. Please reinstall it"... I've scanned with hijack,spybot,adware,avg antivirus but still the same.Is it neccesary to uninstall spybot,avg antivirus, ccleaner before runnin g it. Pleasse help me soon.

As the message indicates, you may have a bad sector on your hard drive. If Spyware Blaster happens to be installed in that sector, that would explain the problem. You shouldn't have to uninstall the other programs; just try uninstalling Spyware Blaster and re-install it.

You've probably got an old drive there, from your OS description. I suggest you uninstall Spywareblaster and go into real DOS not "command prompt" and try scandisk:

SCANDISK /ALL /AUTOFIX /NOSAVE, once it is done reboot and reinstall Spywareblaster.

i did scandisk in dos, says no errors were found on both drives.

what next?

make sure it is a thorough scandisk and not a standard. also go to advanced settings and tell it to run a surface scan
