Comment:

I recently updated SpywareBlaster to version 3.5.1 and have an issue in XP pro when I try to do a update. I have used SpywareBlaster for the past three years and have not had any issues till this newest version. I have a partition on my computer of 98se and XP pro. SpywareBlaster works fine in 98se, but when I try to do an update in XP pro it just freezes (need to reboot) even an alt. ctrl. del. does not shut it down.

I tried a few options and finally got to the point of shutting down my Norton firewall in order for the update to work. This is not the case in 98se (where I also have Norton firewall).

Anyone else having similar problems with SpywareBlaster in XP? If there is another way to go around the procedure that I noted (with shutting off the firewall) then please let me know.

Thank You

No problems with mine, check your firewall settings in XP to see if SpywareBlaster is blocked.

If you are running Norton AV or Norton internet security there is a known issue is a known issue when running an update. Javacool recommends disabling the firewall while running the update then enabling it again. There is nothing wrong with your software or settings this is a known conflict and they are trying to fix it.

I should mention that this conflict only affects certain xp users. Which is why your windows 98 version updates fine.
