spyware warning on desktop

March 6, 2011 at 08:17:30
Specs: Windows 7
Yesterday I was browsing on the internet when some warning messages popped up in the right hand corner (I can't remember what they said, sorry), and when I closed explorer, my background picture had been replaced by a big, long, wordy spyware warning message over a blue binary background. I ran Windows Defender and the 'scan for spyware and other potentially unwanted software' thing but neither came up with anything. Do I need to worry? Should I avoid doing online banking and going on my email etc where I disclose personal details?

if you clicked on it anywhere on the desktop on the notification you are infected. Here's how to avoid this happening next time:

Now to remove the problem, run these 3 utilities in the exact order without rebooting untill the end of the extraction:
1- rkill.exe
2- TDSS Killer
3- Malwarebytes- run in full mode fixing all it finds
Then reboot

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
