Hi I'm new to this and desperate. I have something on my system that calls itself spyware quake. I have removed it in add/remove progs several times but it re-installs itself. I have done a search and tried to remove all results but can't remove it all. Any advice please
You can remove SpywareQuake manually. Just follow these removal instructions.

Thanks for your help, everything ok now apart from an annoying attempt to change my home site. My webroot spyware stops this but still asks me every time it happens

I also got the spyware quake trojan along with something called "virus Blast". I tried almost everything i could find on the internet to get rid of it with no luck. If you have windows xp and have system restore enabled (which is enabled by default) then use that. restore to an earlier date before you caught the virus. Of course you probably want to back up anything important first. start -> programs -> accessories -> system tools -> system restore. Its like it never happened.

Summary: Ok, so, I got unlocker and ewido_micro and spyware doctor. I hope they can help... I delete the Spyware Quake, and it seems to come back all the time when I delete it, the Virus Alert! flashing thing ...
