Here is my situation, My girlfriends desktop has been taken over by spyware, I cannot get onto the internet at all, some kind of "internet optimizer" has really screwed things up, I ran Adware and found an assload of spyware so I immediately deleted it all as well as a bunch of crap programs under the "add remove programs" she is running Windows XP Home edition with a DSL connection, here is the real kicker..... things were screwed up before but at least she could get onto the web, but since I deleted some stuff caught with Adware and remove some programs I can't get connected at all, I get this allot as well
res://c:\WINDOWS\System32\shdoclc.dll/navcancl.htm
Any suggestions?????

have you deleted the connection then tried to renew it , and done an, sfc /scannow ,or should I say, delete the connection ,,, sfc /scannow ,,, and then renew it ,,, Don't know what else to say ,,If there were that many spyware programs I've also had to uninstall then reupdate, IE , in order to get it to work again ((on someone elses machine)) my own I just ended up low level formatting and reinstall
MSI 845e mb 768 mb ram and a p4 2.4n running xp ,win 2000 advanced server and win 98 SE alot to learn and I know so little !!!!

Just for safety sake disable the system restore:

run adaware and spybot again from safe mode. run the AV in safe mode. If it gives you file names, runt hem in 'search files and folders' and delete them there.
Do a good general clean-up in safe mode:
Expose Hidden Files:
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html
Dump TIF, Delete cookies, and dump %TEMP%, dump the recycle bin. When you ran spybot and adaware did you dump the quarrentined files?
Reinstall IE 6 Sp1:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/ie6sp1/default.asp
I would not bother to repair it in Add/Remove, just reinstall it, should take about 8 minutes.
I agree with delete the connection and establish a new one--- if reinstall IE does not get it back on the net.
Thresher

Well I ran HijackThis and below you will see the log, I also tried to re-install IE 6 SP1 but still I am unable to connect to any websites, I can see in the address bar it says something about "internet optimizer" like it is trying to connect to that site???? I also ran ispfix and WinsockXPfix but nothing seems to work.
