I am have some Spyarwe problems....I installed Ad-Aware on my system but its the kind that you would have to update after inatallation. the problem is that this spyware is not allowing me to get on line(even through safe mode) to update its definitions. My question is, if thier some program that i can download form another computer (Updates and all) so that i can get rid of this problem.

"but its the kind that you would have to update after inatallation"
Say what now? They all pretty much allow the definition files to be updated, just like AV
Regardless, the program should still run, it just may not be able to identify (and repair) the latest threats.
Ad-aware can be updated manually, sure - right here

HI:I have used Ad-Aware since 6 years ago & i never had a single problem with it
anyhow: you Can try the following Online For Spyware:

.. well, the gist of his message was that he CAN'T get online using the 'problem' computer.
Perhaps there is some confusion on the poster's part (as well) "Ad-aware" is a specific product, and not a generic term. Also, other companies market products with very similar names to confound the uninformed

Sorry guys for the misunderstanding...what I meant was that the spyware that's infecting my pc has it so that i connot go online to update the Ad-Aware software. it keeps blocking me. Its trying to cantact a site called "badurl"

I got that part
I say again: Ad-aware will run without updating, it just won't be as effective.
If you want to download the latest definitions and copy them over from a floppy (or whatever), click on the provided link for 'defs.zip'

I would use HiJackThis.
Download HiJackThis, install & run to get a log file. Don't fix anything yet.
You then post the log file at the site provided below & it will tell you what to fix.

Or,

To be sure, there is no guarantee that Ad-aware alone will rectify things - I'm just a bit stymied at the poster's insistence that he can't run it without updating, and that he wants one that doesn't use updates(?)
Loss of connectivity might be an indication to try a WinSock repair tool such as LSPFix - although a scan with HJT! may help determine the actual issue
