My background has be changed to "Spyware Infection: Your system is infected with spyware. Windows recommends you to use a spyware removal tool to prevent loss of important data and increase system prefomance. Using this PC before having it cleaned from spyware threats is highly discouraged." this is exactly copied with spelling error. When i try to change it, with the msiexec.exe, it asks me to reinstall Microsoft Office Visio Professional 2003. But i dont believe i have ever had that software. Then i also discovered the same thing occurs when i open IE, but after a few cancels i can using it but cant download anythin b/c that same installer pops up again. I used mozilla and it work with out a problem.
i've done several scans with norton antivirus 2004 but it doesnt detected anything.

so im at a lose of what to do. If anyone could PLEASE give me any advice or help at what to do it would be greatly appericiated!!

It looks like you've got SpySheriff, RazeSpyware or a very similar infection. I suggest running a HijackThis scan and posting a log here. You can also try SpySheriff removal instructions and read some info on RazeSpyware.

I have also run into the same problem. I have run Hijackthis and spybot search and destroy and still have the message on my desktop. I'm thinking maybe I didn't check the right boxes when i ran the hijackthis program. Does anyone know which one should be specifically checked? Should I do something else to get rid of the background?!? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
