Hi,
First I am no expert, except in being lost and confused. In reading your post , you do check your email and do Ebay with this computer.
Email is a wonderful way to get a virus.
Option 1. Never check your email again.
Option 2. Setup your anti virus to scan incoming mail before you open it. I have given up on Netscape IE and Outlook and use Thunderbird.
Option 2 seems a lot better.
Ebay...me too. It seems that Ebay members are targeted. I would suggest you change your passwords on Ebay and Paypal....today!
Key logger: Try starting your computer in Safe mode first and then run your anti virus program.
There is a program (free)called winpatrol.
It will show you all running programs and give you the option of having a program never start up at boot up.Hope this is of some help.
