Hi everyone!
I have a question about Spybot S&D.
I have had it for a little over a month and something went wrong with it. Everytime I used to run it, it would come up with the the abilities to scan, immunize, and I was able to monitor what it found, etc.
Out of nowhere that screen disappeared and now all I get is a tiny box and I cannot monitor what it is doing and cannot get to any of it's functions. The tiny box only shows me the progress of the scan and then tells me that it is finished. I want to get rid of this and be able to get the full screen so that I may be able to monitor it and get to all it's function buttons. I have uninstalled it 4x and reinstalled. Still the same thing. I downloaded it for my son's computer and it downloaded it the way that I want it to be for me. I don't understand this at all.
I would appreciate any advice as to what to do to be able to get it back to the way it was.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me.

Viv, Try http://www.safer-networking.org/ You will see their forum and support listings on the left hand side of the page. I am sure you have checked the options, and unless you have set the options incorrectly. I have never heard of your problem, but they offer some great support at their website. Has Adaware also been adversly changed, or do you not use it? I recommend it, Spybot and Spywareblaster as a complete way to keep your system free of the nasties. All al available at http://wilders.org/

Hi Viv.

This may be easily fixed.
Try to start Spybot with start>programs menu.
That works in XP,I don't know if ME is the same.
When you put your mouse on Spybot, click on "advanced mode".
I'm thinking that Spybot may be in "easy mode"on your system right now.
That happened to me once.

Hope that helps you,
JB.

Thanks all!
I have figured it out. When I uninstalled it and reinstalled it 4x, I did not get rid of all of it, files, etc. So I manually deleted all the other stuff and reinstalled it and now it works fine. It was so annoying with it being a tiny screen that would not let me get to any of Spybot's functon buttons.

Jim Beau, I tried it the way you said, and it didn't matter if I clicked on Advanced Mode or Easy Mode, it did the same tiny box for each. I was really getting annoyed with it. Thank goodness I finally figured it out.

capt, I do have Adaware and SpywareBlaster. I love them all, they are really good programs. I recently downloaded CWShredder. It tells me that my system is good. Thank goodness for these programs, it is nice to know that our privacy is protected.

Thanks again to both of you for trying to help me.
