I'd be interested in hearing the views about SpyBot on top of TrendMicro Antispyware.

TMAS protects against keyloggers, etc., and I have used SpyBot in the past, but became disinchanted with it after discovering it's default setup (as I recall) allows a large list of spyware to run (something like that).

And in that SB' is a bit difficult to get setup so as to run as most would expect it to, has what may be considered as a hazardous immunize feature that users can be unaware of, plus users frequently report update problems, and I seem to be doing okay with TMAS, I still would be interested in what other think about not using SpyBot S&D.

Note, I've been running TMAS nearly a year without any issues, that, and I finally rid my OS of Norton and now am running Kaspersky with everything seemingly ok.

I have never had any problem with Spybot S&D . Gets rid of most spyware , has a built in file shredder where you can shred files up to 100 times .I think its the best spyware remover out there . Everyone has there own preferences . And a tool that looks through your startup and tells you what is not supposed to be there . Found a couple of keyloggers in my startup file and you can get rid of them or just temporarily disable those startup files . Anything that Spybot doesn't get which seems to be little then Adaware gets rid of . I have also verified this with some free online spyware tools from like trend micro or panda . Use Zonealarm for FW and AVG Free for AV . Haven't had a virus in years .

Spybot is not the program it once was.I haven't used it for years and there are just too many better options available!TMAS being one of them.

I tend to agree with that too. In fact, I deleted Spybot and have been using the (free) Super Anti-Spyware now. That is very, very thorough too.
I little handy feature is the "find out what's really running on your pc". Gives you an in-depth scan and report of your start-up stuff; with explanations as to what they do.

Spybot used to be so good too; guess it is simply not what it used to be, sadly... I also think that Adaware has seen its' better days too.

All I run now is the free Super-Antispyware, the free AVG for anti-virus, and the free Zone Alarm for the firewall.
