Hi we had a virus/ trojan problem a little while ago and my brother helped me and downloaded trojan remover and spybot and hijackthis to rid the problems. Everything has seemed fine but
today when I ran Spybot it can't get rid of some spyware by huntbar: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\BTIEIN
I've updated spybot and it still can't getit and tells me to have it run on restart, but it still can't get the problem.

I ran Hijack This. Please help me find this and any other problems. Thanks, Luciana

here is the log:

Hi Luciana,

Nope don’t see any sign of HuntBar, must have been removed by Spybot S&D

Here is the standard instruction:
Run an updated Spybot Search and Destroy ( http://security.kolla.de/ ) and fix all items in RED and reboot. Then after closing all browser windows, fix the items listed below that are remaining using HijackThis and then reboot again.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MoviePlace] "C:\Program Files\MoviePlace\MoviePlace.exe" /H
MoviePlace malware - See http://research.pestpatrol.com/PestInfo/Pest_Detail.asp?id=453060662

After rebooting delete the following folder:
The folder MoviePlace at C:\Program Files\MoviePlace

You should do the security updates for WinXP and IE6
Platform: Windows XP is now at SP1
MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 is now at SP1

--------------
For a Spyware free future see: So how did I get infected in the first place? http://www.net-integration.net/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?;act=ST;f=38;t=3051

Four of the most recommended anti-spyware programs are SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard and Spybot S&D and Ad-aware. If you install all four programs, keep them updated, and scan with Spybot S&D and Ad-aware periodically, you will be fairly well-protected from spyware.

Thought I would mention that SpywareGuard includes a browser hijack stopper (Javacool calls it Browser Hijack Blaster) that protects your system from browser hijackers and spyware that alters your Internet Explorer settings.

Good Luck!
