Spybot block antivirus site

I have a problem when browsing antivirus website. But for other website is fine n smooth. when browse antivirus site ,ie www.symantec.com o www.trendmicro.com, page cannot be display. What i found out is spybot1.3 search n destroy got a ignoring host file include symantec n trendmicro. Just to confirm that is this the main cause of unabling to browse antivirus site???

I cant browse www.symantec.com but i can browse for www.sarc.com. :P

I using AVG virus scanner, no virus detected.

I don't think those HOSTS file entries came from Spybot S&D unless you picked of a rogue version. There are browser hijackers like some version of the CoolWebSearch and virus programs that insert such entries to prevent people from finding fixes for their problems.

Try running the current version of CWShredder.exe as it checks for these types of entries in the HOSTS file.

i have test with CWsahredder. but nothing found.
I even have try hijak this o About buster.
Nothing unusual.

AVG found no virus.
Cwshredder found no problem.
hijak this found nothing unsual.

Sweet. :P

I got another problem when browsing web.
Alway prompt out messenger service. Some send me msg. Not how to disable it. Not msn messenger.

Right click on My computer select manage then select services annd applications then select services...scroll down to "Messenger" right click and select disable....that should cease the pop up messages

I recommend you download a clean hosts file from the Spybot site, and keep a copy of it safely tucked away. I always replace my hosts on a weekly basis, just in case anything slipped in the one in the Windows folder unnoticed.
