im one of the many people in the world who use the computer a lot without knowing much about it and so am facing so many problems.firstly i went through other ppl's msgs in this forum who had similar problems and accordingly i downloaded spybot s&d and also ad-aware and updated them.but surprisingly even after i ran them porn pop-ups continued and the globalwebsearch.com toolbar remained in its place.i ran spybot and ad-aware over and over again and deleted whatever it detected but it only helped in resetting the desired homepage.
the second problem is that sometimes some IE windows just close all by itself and sometimes there's this sortof regeneration of windows and by itself around 40 windows open and im left with no choice but to restart my system.
could it be that im doing something wrong while running spybot or ad-aware?
HELP THIS LAYMAN!!!

When you run AdAware, select the Custom mode and the Customize option and enable all the search features. This searches for additional items the "smart scan" skips.

1)Make sure Windows is up to date

2)Disable messenger-

3)Turn off system restore, boot into SAFE mode and run the tools again. Also run a virus scan while in SAFE mode. When done reboot into regular mode and re-enable system restore.

Safe mode-

tomtsa, After doing what others suggested above I would put SpywareBlaster on your computer. This program runs in the background and all you need to do is check for updates every so often. This program will take care of all your pop-up problems.

SpywareBlaster can be found at:

He said he already ran Ad-ware and Spybot S&D. You should use CWShredder next - doownload here:

http://www.lurkhere.com/~nicefiles/

After running CWShredder, reboot and see if your problem is solved.

If the toolbar still persists, then get HijackThis, which can also be downloaded from the above link. Be sure to put it in a folder, not a temp folder or not your desktop. Close all browser windows and all other programs and run it. It will give a log. Don't fix anything yet. You will need to post the log for review.

You are welcome to post the log at my forum if you'd like.

Spyware Warrior Forums

You should get your computer cleaned up before downloading SpywareBlaster.
