Hi, I have used spy sweeper for almost 3 years now and had no problems with it. A few days ago suddenly my computer slowed down remarkebily. every process takes ages... When I check the windows task manager it shows spy sweeper .exe using 99% of CPU!!! I don`t understand why, this has never happend before. I have updated to the lastest version. Scanned, even uninstalled and re-installed it twice, with the same result. I have sent a request to the Webroot support 4 dagys ago, but have not yet got any answer yet. Can anyone help me? I have a laptop with Win. XP-pro. Thanks Aron

I would imagine you have what I'm currently dealing with- the winupgro virus. It uses up all cpu resources and likes to embed itself in and disable anti-virus software. If you look on your active processes list, you might find it there. Similar to your situation, it disabled my Spybot Search and Destroy, and the makers of Spybot have stopped responding to my requests for assistance. Just my thoughts, hope it helps...

What to do than? My anti virus program, NOD 32 does`nt detect any viruses,. When I shut down Spy sweeper, everything goes back to normal functon again with over 90% idle process. How come the virus is active only through Spy sweeper.exe? How can I find it and get rid of it?
