i hardly know anything bout computers.there was some spyware detected by antivirus so i deleted it.now each time i open my comp it says sporder.dll not found.cant access aol.downloaded sporder.dll from a net cafe on a pen drive.when i tried to open it it says,use one of following program to open it....i dont know what to do ,which program to use....plz help

achintyas, Which exact version of Windows are you running? Right click My Computer, choose Properties and under the General tab it will show you the version.

Yes you can.

Did you do a file search for sporder.dll

Click Start>Search and type: sporder.dll and click the Search button.

i ran that prog and searched for sporder.dll .....2 files found one in folder c:\i386 11kb application extension and other in sporder.dll in c:\windows\temp\mcu2C.tmp 11kb application extension.....still when i started my comp it says sporder.dll not found....something wrong with my box

achintyas, After running the Winsock XPFix can you now connect to the Internet? Also Right click My Computer, choose Properties and under the General tab it will show you the version, does it show SP1 or SP2

when comp starts it says mscifapp.exe unable to locate component .application failed to start as sporder.dll was not found.reinstalling application may fix this prob

Then see if you can connect to the Internet. I'm leaving for the day but maybe someone will pop in to help you further. It's sounds like your computer had webhancer (spyware) installed somehow and whichever program removed it didn't remove it all and that's why you are having these problems.

achintyas, You stated that you did download a copy of sporder.dll. What you need to do is transfer that sporder.dll file to the problem computer somewhere that you can find it easily like your My Documents folder. Now open your My Documents folder and right click on the sporder.dll file and choose Copy. Once you do that do the following:

Go to Start>Programs>Accessories and double click on "Windows Explorer" to open it. Now in the left hand window click the + in front of My Computer, click the + in front of Local Disk (C:), click the + in front of Windows, scroll down to the system32 folder and double left click it. This will open the contents in the right hand window. In an empty space in that right hand window right click and choose Paste. This will place a copy of the sporder.dll file into the System32 folder where I believe it belongs for Windows XP SP2. See if this gets rid of that error message.
