Ok i admit i stupidly got complacent about my virus protection.
I don't know what virus/worm I have but as soon as i try to access REGEDIT the window shuts down on me. Likewise if I try to open sygate or Anti-Trojan Network, the window comes up for few seconds and then closes.

Can you run a virus scan online at Sygates site, or access Regedit in safe mode?

Pam, reboot into Safe Mode (tap F8 as you boot) then enter the Register / Local Machine / Run file and delete any references to the Trojan. Be sure to jot down the tree path in the Left window before you do, then go into Explore and follow the path to the virus and delete it.
