I've had SPAM problems for months now and have tried several different approaches with little or no luck. I have SpamBully3 installed. SpamBully3 works but it does not stop the SPAM---it just puts it into a SPAM or delete folder. Even with the filters on, I still get between 25-50 SPAM messages a day and I have to scroll through them to ensure that I don't have any false positives. SpamBully states that with the train/learn system, that after a few thousand SPAM messages vs good messages, it will have learned how to determine which is which. I think that one of the main prolems is my ISP which is: Charter.net. I have heard that they have a very poor SPAM filtering system on their e-mail server. Is there a way or software out there that I can receive e-mail only from an approved list and all other e-mail will be blocked even if they are good or false positives? I am getting to the point of switching to a new e-mail system and address.

Go here and get Mailwasher Pro, I have been using this for years...

Okay, I'm sure that it is a fine program. SpamBully is also a fine program which I have already paid for. I don't think that you could teach any program with the volume of SPAM that I am getting to distinguish between real SPAM and a false positive with 100% accuracy. I'm not interested in seeing the e-mail at the server or where it is from or bouncing it etc. I'm at the point that I am not going to pay for another program that does the same thing that I already have. I just need to know how to block ALL incoming e-mail other than those on an approved list. That way I don't have to worry about false positives since I would only get e-mail from people that I know and trust. I have talked to other people who use Charter.net as their ISP---Charter definitely has a problem, they are all getting slammed with SPAM just like me. We all have various anti-SPAM software and none of it makes hardly a dent. Thanks for the info.

OE Mail rules worked better than Mailwasher for me. Took a long time to get it right and it was made easier because I was able to let in my approved mailers as first rule.
Your case is even easier if you are using OE and only want approved mailers. All you need to do is to put your known mailers as first rule and tell it to "stop processing more rules".
Make your second rule "for all messages + delete at server". If you think that's risky, test it out first on "move it to + Deleted Items".
A useful addition is to add a meaningless keyword, which is also accepted by your first rule. Something like "mailok", which you can give to anyone who is not yet on your approved list. This can be changed at any time.

By the way, that is NOT a high volume of SPAM. I get around 120 a day (although now very few get into my PROBABLY SPAM box).

Derek---sorry that I haven't followed up in a while. Followed your suggestions about the Mail filters in OE and I uninstalled SpamBully. Works like a charm! I am very happy now, even though I wasted my money with SpamBully, I won't be wasting any more with any other program. Thank You for your help. I knew that there had to be a better way without spending more money.

I'm all for doing it free LOL.
Glad to hear you got it sorted out and thx for popping back to let us know.
