i have come across a problem i think severe... viral
I had a samsung q310 win vista home premium + mcaffe 2012 plus(running for nearly a month). after several downloads with utorrent (i always do it) my computer's HDD starter blinking and i could only shut it down after long press on power button...
Originally i thought it would be a disk problem.... and i let "automatic chkdsk fix" work. It might have done something to the X: boot (recovery) portion, because after it has reported fixing some errors on drive X, initially working samsung recovery is now unfunctional with F4 key (recovery don't open before boot which was expected to and known to be good working before)...

Then i tried windows stratup F8 key, then start x:drives samsung recovery solution, in command prompt, while wondering directory listing gave me shocking results. First dir command was successful with everything in place, files with right extensions..... but second command showed me that new .mui extension was added to each of the executables (if this is not a virus running just before me,,,,no other thing could explain this to me)... i am thinking of formatting my drives as soon as possible...

This might be a viral spread, or a new thread . i just wanted to report only

I think you need to skip F8 & use F11 or whatever command takes you directly to the recovery partition.
