When my friend turns on her PC someone remotely takes control of her keyboard and mouse. She took it to a repair shop but when she switched it on back at home it happened again. She is a novice and I am not much better so can someone help.

What exactly is happening that makes you think someone is controlling her computer?

I haven't actually been there but she says that her mouse and keyboard makes a clicking sound and boxes on the screen get filled in. I'm not sure that I am making sense but that is how she put it.

I vaguely remember a while back that people were having the same issues when their microphones were turned on. XP was trying to use the speech to text feature and creating all sorts of havoc. If she has a microphone connected to the computer, have her mute it in the volume control panel and see if that fixes the issue..
