every few days my computer plays up and everything runs realy slow i go to do a system restore and system software distribution 2.0 is installed i do the restore to the day before it was installed and its fine im not sure how to stop this installing itself onto my dell computer and i have to do a restore every few days
need help with my slow computer

software distribution service 2.0 is a service of and in itself M$ Windows Updater. It is not virus or spyware. You need to explain your issue more thoroughly.

Note that I googled this long ago, posted here on CNet trying to rid my OS of this thing because it disables all system restore points BEFORE each of it's (rootkited?) updates (i.e.; regardless of users disabling MS updates as soon as the OS is formatted).
If that alone doesn't tell you something's a foot with this thing, then why is it that it is reportedly the ONLY software ever that MS supposedly farmed out, and to a Russian sounding software company then based in California, plus MS refuses to say why it's needed or how to rid OS's of it.
I still want to know how to rid my OS of it, not just for those reasons, but I'm very much annoyed that after it's unwanted updates, I seem to always lose my quick launch preferences on the taskbar.
