im a big fan of toms hardware, ive looked there for many product reviews.

my laptop has the smitfraud-c.coreservice entry every time i run spybot. i have to go to safe mode to get administrative rights and every time i remove this entry and reboot it is back. i have tried smitfraud fix, spybot, adaware, i tried removing the core.cache.dsk file, and tried killing processes but not sure which im looking for. i searched all over the net and tried everything i see and now im asking for help. i am running windows vista, my browser keeps redirecting me every time i try to vsit a site, and the more i browse, the more entries show up in spybot next time i scan. what do i need to do?

I've seen several testimonials from people infected with smitfraud who say that 'SmitFraudFix' has totally got rid of it on their machines:

ive tried that program, but i had to be in safe mode to get the rapport file, let alone to do the fix part of it. do i need to be in normal mode? it says i dont have the right permissions to do it in normal mode and i dont have an administrator password. the admin password is not the same as my login password. any ideas there? is that even the issue here?
