Whenever I move, extract or install something, everything slows down to a crawl. Even the move/extract/install is alot slower than it should be and I first noticed this I plugged in a friends 500gb sata hdd to copy some files, which took a ridiculously long time to copy.

specs: E8400 cpu(core 2 duo 3ghz), asus p5q mobo, 4gb@3.3gb of ram(32bit)

I am running low on space for some partitions but my c:/ drive has 14.7gb, although the rest have <1gb, I've scanned for viruses/adware/malware etc using multiple programs and found nothing.

I can only think of it being the drivers for my friends hard drive, I'm fairly certain it's not the lack of space because it was fine before using the hdd.
