cooldude24,

Which modem are using, Internal / External ?

Do you have the latest drivers installed for the modem.

If you think its a virus, then heres some free antiviruses.

1) AVG Antivirus
2) Avast! Antivirus

Both can be downloaded from www.download.com

Also if you don't want to download you can try Micro Trend Housecall. Basically its a free program and a good one that scans your computer and takes out anything that shouldnt be there. The scan takes about 30-40 minutes and it takes out adware, spyware, grayware, viruses, worms (everything for the most part).

Good Luck

First of all , I see that you only have 256 mb ram....Windows XP needs at least 512 mb too run right..AVG/Avast or PC-Tools are all free.
Download one and RUN, test for Virus, Also check with trojan remover..
