Slow computer, IE and iTunes run slow

Hewlett-packard / Df253a-aba a250n

Specs: Microsoft Windows XP Professional, 2.6 GHz / 511 MB
My IE windows and applications such as iTunes have been opening/closing/running much slower over the past couple of weeks. When I am on myspace, I get a pop up stating, "Your personal computer needs to install antivirus software!" I close the box then click back and luckily it takes me back. I have run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and deleted everything it detected. But I still have the problem. My Adobe and Java are updated.

Thanks in advance for your help!

How much free HDD space is there? Have you defragged? Run Ccleaner?

Used Space: 62,407,991,296 bytes 58.1 GB
Free Space: 57,638,486,016 bytes 53.6 GB

I tried to Defrag but it popped up, "You do not need to defragment this volume."

And I did just run Ccleaner... thanks for the heads up... I forgot about that program.

Thanks and I will let you know how my computer runs.

Hey! My computer is running well, just not as fast as my friend's computers. I did have an error with my Adobe Flash Player 10. And sometimes, I'll open up a website that uses Adobe Flash Player 10 and the page will close automatically. I did a search for "Flash" on my computer and about 100 flash players popped up. It was the exact same entry. Not sure what that means. I was searching for it so I could click on it and try to update it. Any advice? Thanks so much for your help thus far.

I am using Internet Explorer 7 Version: 7.0.5730.13

Try to delete all flash files and restart your pc.
Then install it agian and please use Internet Explorer 8 by updating your computer.

Start, All programs, windows update.
Start, typ update and choose the frist one.
After this install flash.

Why Explorer 8?
Its better, faster and much more if you believe microsoft ^^.

How do you recommend I delete all flash files? I did a search for "flash" and it's been searching for over 15 minutes with over 500 files popped up, and probably way more by the time it's finished searching. Should I delete all of these? Thanks
