Shutdown without Bluescreens

Acer / Aspire m5100

Specs: Windows Vista Service Pack 2
I've had this computer for a few years now, and after the OS got corrupted (would always freeze at diskcheck.sys, if I remember correct), I reinstalled the OS, updated to the most recent updates, and got running again. However, whenever I try to do anything, the computer crashes without a blue screen-
Chrome and Firefox installation or running? Shut down.
Internet Explorer ( Versions Seven and Eight) with more than two tabs? Shut down.
Games (Civ 4 runs, everything else doesnt)? Shut down.
Installing a program? Shut down.
Scanning using Kaspersky? Shut down.
Defragging? Shut down.
Using Adobe Reader for PDFs? Shut down.
Attempting to reboot to install updates? Shut down.

I'm starting to get just a bit annoyed here and I cant find any reason WHY its doing it. I've cleaned my registry using Advanced System Care 3.0, but that didnt solve the problem.

I've installed a wireless keyboard and mouse (Microsoft Intellipoint), But I dont think that is the reason.

All my drivers are updated, so I'm finally at a loss for whats going on.

this might be a memory issue but it would be best to have the minidump file analyzed. Do you also experience the same issue in safemode or safemode with networking?

In safemood, most programs run, albiet incredibly slowly (load times 45 minutes to one hour for things like Microsoft Office, MS Paint, ect.), and it does shut down randomly when I try to do a Defrag, run Adobe, scan, or attempt to use the internet.
