Hi
Recently my pc has been infected with this strange virus/worm...Actually it came via my college computers. This is what i've figured out
1.it autoruns on start-up
2.it blocks orkut
3.blocks mozilla firefox!
4.Disables the hide/unhide option from folder options menu.

It also displays error msgs like this when orkut is blocked:
"Ha ha ha orkut is blocked, administrators did not write this program, guess who did??"

on mozilla:
"I dnt hate mozilla but use IE"

my avast scanner shows it as Win32:Agent-hyl[trojan] <---(not sure) but its unable to remove it, the worm just replicates too soon! :p
The removable drives are getting infected too.

And this is what the virus/worm looks like:
Its in a folder that calls itself "MicroSoftPowerPoint". Within the folder there are 3 text files, i.e a drive list, install.txt,.. an audio file, a "svchost.exe file with autohotkey attribute..." I'm really unsure what should be done inorder to get rid of this problem, and restore the registry for enabling the hide/unhide file option. kindly anyone help me please...Waiting for ur reply.
Thank you in advance!
:)

did you try scanning in safe mode?

Tap f8 and get into safe mode with networking, then run either housecall or Bitdefender, as they will give you the power to remove whatever problems that they find
