l have a problem when l try to open any of my files and my computer asks me the program l would like to use if l select a program it becomes the default for every other program l would like to open
try a system restore back to BEFORE the problem, that should work....if not...then undo the restore Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions 7 Golds

If that doesn't help download and run the LNK fix from the same place. The instructions are at the top of the page.I would also recommend running your AV scans after the problem is fixed (by whatever method). It would also be worth running MalwareBytes freebie because this often finds what AV's miss. Get it from here, green button top right:
