As of this morning, I have had a pesky and persistent parasite... a dialogue box from ShopAtHomeSelect.com (a site which I have never visited). After uninstalling it from "Add/Remove Programs" and rebooting, it is still being troublesome. Although, I am not getting the ShopAtHomeSelect.com dialogue popping up, all other pop-up windows are appearing -- even though I use a pop-up blocker that is properly set up.

Until today, I have never had pop-ups come through with my pop-up blocker set, so I am assuming this problem is due to the parasite that won't go away?

Any suggestions & or help is welcome. Thank you!

Do you use Adaware/Spybot? Both programs are sometimes necessary to clean and deal with all the spyware parasites. Both ae available from http://www.wilders.org/

To start off download spybot search and destroy and ad-aware. Both are free and will clean up most spyware, update them both and run the scans. Its safe to remove what they find.

spybot and ad-aware download

http://www.spywareinfo.com/articles/hijacked/

The dl links can be found under the hijack removal heading.
If problems persist also on that page is link to program called "hijack this" download that, unzip it, run hijack this and hit scan. the scan button changes to save log button, save the log and paste the log in reply. Most of what you see in the scan is safe so dont fix anything yet...we will help you analyse the log and fix the leftovers.
Hijack this can be found about half way down page.

Thank you both so much. I downloaded spybot & ad-aware (I didn't have either). so far, so good. I will go to "hijack this" if I have further problems.

I can't thank you enough!
