Hello ! I am facing a strange problem.When i am typing,if i press "shift key" immediately i am seeing a sequence of character like "QW..." and the typed content disappears and Internet explorer is loaded. This happens when i type in notepad,type mail,type in search bar. Is this a virus activity.Nortan is not able to sense anything. kindly help me? rgds prem

This can be a trojan or spyware that monitors your activity. You should download the most recent updates to Norton AntiVirus and scan your system once again. You also need a reliable anti-spyware program. I recommend Windows Defender (former Microsoft AntiSpyware), Webroot SpySweeper and Spyware Doctor. If full system scan will not find anything suspicious, download HijackThis, check your system and post a fresh log.

hello, thanx for the suggestion.i tried spysweeper.it started hanging while checking a file -alg.exe- in system32 directory. -i am not able to use any shift charecters.the moment i do,typed content is getting deleted and E appears and explorer is loading. I tried Trend micro,it cleaned some adware. Nortan is upto date,but does not show anything. Microsoft anti spyware does not show anything. Problem is unresolved. I have posted the Hijack Log below. i have been having similar activity on my system. pardon the lack of caps or any punctuation needing caps. i have updated my virus checker, used a few different spyware things, used hijaak this and cleaned registery stuff all without a fix. have you found anything yet/ i have a thread going here - http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/1134519532 which led me to this posting. i'm so hoping you found something....
