Comment:

hello. a recently installed program in my WINNT folder (though i did not install it!) called java.exe and services.exe are AGRESSIVELY trying to access the net and send emails. i have blocked their access using my firewall. i can only assume it slipped past via an email from someone i know (an attachement called mail.zip that unzips as a file called mail.scr).

can anyone help me identify what this is and how to rid myself of it? i am already NAV to no avail.

thanks in advance!

According to AnswersThatWork

For Services.exe:

If you have Windows NT4/2000/XP/2003 and the full path to this program is C:\WinNT\Services.exe or C:\Windows\Services.exe, then you most probably have the W32.Netsky@mm virus. If you have Windows 95/98/ME and this task is running in the background, then you most probably have that virus too.

No info regarding java.exe
