I noticed over the last two days that my system i almost continuously sending out email traffic. This was noticeable because a number of the emails were addressed to blocked or non existent email addresses and so my NAV picked them up.
I have performed a full scan with Norton, Adawar and a some other spyware catchers.
There were a couple of cookie trackers and these have been successfully deleted.
The system now scans as clean.
However, the emails are still going out from my system. For example 1.5 Gigs of emails yesterday.
I use Outlook Express and there are no sent mails or mails in my outbox.
Apart from the security risk - i am losing a great deal of upload bandwidth.
I hope there is someone out there who has come across this problem and can help.

It sounds like you have a trojan. Have you ran the norton scan while in the safe mode? What firewall do you have? If it is the XP firewall, you cannot control outgoing traffic with it, so install another software one or better yet get a hardware firewall like a Dlink604, SMS, Linksys, etc. Try an on line scan here;
