hey, ive got a virus on my computer that wont go away.
when you start up the computer it adds 3 new icons onto the desktop, 'error cleaner', 'privacy protector' & 'spyware&malware protection'.
it also adds a flashing white cross in a red the taskbar shortcuts that says a message system alert virus activities detected.
& it also causes 2 fake virus scan popups that say download this to get rid of the virus, & one of them brings up a porn pop up with it.
it is a nussence virus & keeps changing different tasks being used, eg, msn conversations get cut off mid sentence & internet explorer pops up.
when i run a antivirus sweep, my soy sweeper program finds it, but it comes straight back even if you delete it.
does anyone know how to get rid of this virus for good?
thanks x

It will take a few scans to find all the bad files but we can get rid of it.

First download and install the latest version of HijackThis v2.0.2:

Download the "HijackThis" Installer from this link:
Hijack This

1. Save " HJTInstall.exe" to your desktop.
2. Double click on HJTInstall.exe to run the program.
3. By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis.
4. Accept the license agreement by clicking the "I Accept" button.
5.Click on the "Do a system scan and save a log file" button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
6. Click "Save log" to save the log file and then the log will open in Notepad.
7. Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
8. Paste the log in your next reply.
9. Do NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet! Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

good luck with hijackthis. if you find this method too complicated, i suggest you simply run anti spyware. these things are not viruses, they don't destroy your computer, however they are incredibly annoying (lol you already know that) and hard to remove. what i'm trying to say is, your anti virus don't deal with this infection, because it's not a virus and you need anti spyware to clean everything up. for anti spyware check free anti spyware downloads.
