Hi all, This is surely common knowledge....or perhaps not, Either way I thought I would remind you. I got a wireless card for my kid's laptop becasue I am going to use it on a wireless networking job this week. For the heck of it I tried it out in my living room and low and behold there are three wireless networks just in this building of 6 units. ALL are unlocked/unencrypted ALL used the default password for the router ALL had file and print sharing enabled. So the moral of the story is do yourself a favor and at LEAST encrypt your wireless network. That is all... Jimi_l

I agree. If everything was as obvious and acted upon, we'd have less to do here. But, unfortunately most of the people who should be aware of this sort of thing never come here. But I appreciate the info. Larry
