Security Tools Virus

August 25, 2011 at 11:07:22
Specs: Windows XP
I was on facebook and all of a sudden my browser crashed and I got a pop up saying something like "Windows Security Tools." This also put a desktop icon on home screen. It said I had a ton of viruses. I immediately restarted to last known good configurations. This removed the icon so I thought I was okay. I ran malwarebytes hoping to get rid of anything else it did but it will scan for 5-10 seconds then shut down. I then rebooted in safe mode with networking but anytime I try to run malwarebytes or SuperAntiSpyware it says "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file."

in that case, run rkill.exe in safe mode, then run malwarebytes in a full scan
