Specs: Windows Vista
Last week I picked up a Security Tool Virus on my PC which in connected to a Netgear WND2000 Router & Virgin Speed Touch modem. I managed to get rid of the virus by doing a system restore.
My desk top PC will no longer connect to the can't find the connection.
I am running on Vista.
I have downloaded 'Malwarebytes' and run that on the PC from a pendrive. It found 5 HKEY registery keys that needed to be removed, which I did.
Still wont work.
Can anyone help me!!!!!!

Diandy, this security tool virus is a rogue spyware fake program. This program appears to be an antivirus although it is a virus itself,
Anyways, malwareBytes dose remove it, you told its not working for you, than try Super Anti Spyware or do the manual removal steps to remove security tool virus manually (without downloading any software), see the manual removal instructions within this tutorial link

Larry, I have tried your surgestion, when I opened my Winsock list thingy there was nothing listed at all.

I have tried the cmd.exe, everytime I try and reset using netsh winsock reset, I get the same message all the time:-

1) The System cannot find the file specified.

James88 & easd I have already run the Malware process and removed all the affected files. Its just my broadband wont connect.
