I noticed about a week ago that whenever I click on a result from a web search (google, bing, ask, ect.) I would be re-directed. I can copy and paste the link to get where I need to go. Since then I have been unable to start any programs that I have downloaded to fix this problem. Every time I get this error: Windows cannot access the device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. Can you please help?

your security preferences might have been changed and/or a number of IE settings

accidently submitted ~ just look through settings to see if anything is different

Thanks for replying to my post. I found that I had been infected with malware. I tried several different programs to correct the problem and none of them worked. In the end I had to use a program to delete AVG, then I downloaded Avast and let it scan on boot. This seems to have worked. I deleted the programs from my system that would not function properly while I was infected and so far everything seems to be better.
