Whenever I run a search (using Google, Yahoo, or other search engines) I get redirected to other unrelated "advertisement" web pages which usually want me to purchase something. I have installed all high-priority windows updates, I have installed and run full scans with Microsoft Security Essentials, Super Antispyware, Malwarebytes, CombpFix, and Hitman Pro - removing everything found - with no success. Does anyone know what to do about this?
Thanks, Doug
i have the exact same problem, i blame google cos it always seems to be a google ad that comes up even if u search with yahoo
It was hard but I just fixed the Google search hijacked on my computer. I had to edit the hosts file to fix. The hosts file had lines so remove them:
212.117.178.25 www.google.com
212.117.163.43 search.yahoo.comYou can try Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware, AdAware!, and CureIt! but none of them found this. Also look at your Tools>Internet Options>Connections to be sure no proxies have been added.
Kent_Diego.....You mentioned "edit host files" and "make sure no proxies have been added," please explain in detail. What should we do??? Also, why would we try Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware, AdAware!, and CureIt! if none worked for you or the original poster. Please be specific, how did you fix this issue? I'm having the same annoying problem.
