Hi,

I think I have been infected with spyware. On my taskbar to the right (before the clock and other icons), I have this search bar thing that I can not remove. The name of it is search assistant toolbar. Does anyone know how to remove it?

I ran some spybot programs but it doesn't pick it up.

Thanks for your help.

Thought, we might have been lucky as there is a spyware searchbar that can be removed from add/remove programs. If Spybot and Adaware did not do the trick, try http://spywarewarrior.com/ They have some posts and information about your problem. You can also get "hijachthis" and post the log at that forum. HTH

The shareware program Ad-aware will remove this. I just got rid of it myself after a week of trying. Hurray for Ad-aware.
