appears in my add and remove program list, in recent weeks, trouble is to the best of my knowledge,i have not installed it, my question is simply, is it spyware.? and is it safe to remove it.?

Yes ..get rid of it..it likely came bundled with some free software that was downloaded... Also would be good idea to download and run both "spybot search and destroy" and "ad-aware". Both programs are free and will clean out spyware. Update both programs before running scans. Let them remove whatever they find. Both programs can be found on wildersecurity.org Good luck
