Hi, I wonder if someone can help me. I work voluntary around the globe, mainly observing and documenting what i see. I have recently brought a laptop, which i intend on taking with me on my next trip. Whilst out in these countries i use a digital camera with an SD card to photogragh events. I will want to use my laptop to edit and delete photos and send them to colleagues and friends. What i want to know is, if i have viewed, editted or delete a picture from the SD Card, would it leave traces on my actual hard drive. Would it somehow automatically copy the photo on to my hard drive, once i have put in the SD Card, or does it not leave any photos on my hard drive, which have come from my SD Card. Strange question i know, but i will explain, some goverments in some areas of the world, do not take kindly to you photographing and documenting what is actually going their country, some countries have the power to sieze your laptop and forward it on to you at a later date. I do not want to have to completely erase the hard drive on my return journeys. In some countries if such photos where found, i could be deported for and not be able to return for many years if at all ever. These is no good to the people i am trying to help in these areas. Any help with these querie would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Could be a good thing, depending on the country...
Deleting an item from your hard-disk doesn't mean it is gone forever in a lot of cases - do a google search for data recovery, or click the orange link on the right of this page for more info. -->
