Specs: Windows XP
So i know my computer is infected pretty
badly. Normally, when i turn on the laptop an
error message comes up prompting me to run
an anti virus program that i didnt even
download in the first place. then of course, i
have to pay to remove these viruses. I also
cannot connect to the internet because of that
same error message.
I tried working in safe mode with networking
but i get no connection. I had downloaded
malwarebytes and when i try to run it (whether
in safe mode or not) i get the infamous Run-
Time Error 0 then Run Time Error 440.

I tried bringing up device manager to do that
whole "disable the TDSS" thing but theres no
such thing on there.

Try using Combo Fix or Hitman Pro

The runtime error you're receiving is a program error, usually related to not be able to update said program, or it didn't install correctly.

I would also highly suggest trying THIS if the other two programs don't work: (Download the one that says TDDS)

Another thing I would check as you've said you have no internet connection is maybe trying to repair your WinSock registry entry by using the following tool:
