Comment: Is it possible to have two AV programmes installed at the same time so long as one of them is disabled temporarily (no auto-protect, no start-up scan, no email scanning etc)? Thanks

Reply: (edit)If you really feel the need for two antivirus programs go to http://www.gfi.com/. They have a software program that allows you to do it, but the cost for their program and the two antivirus programs would stop me from doing it. Read the recomendations from Symantec that deals with the problems that can result in using two antiviirus programs at the same time. Take care!

Reply: (edit)If you run two av programs at the same time you are asking for trouble ala conflicting programs.I know of people that have two av programs. They use one as an on-demand scanner, the other runs until it is disabled to allow for the scanning.I think that is risky. All it takes is the mistake of forgetting once to open yourself up to conflicts.Regards.JB

Reply: (edit)Thanks for the warnings. Is it just because of the risk of accidentally forgetting to thoroughly disable the features of one while the other is running, or is there more to it than that? Thanks
