Hi,

My computer was recently hit with some nasty spyware that slowed things to a crawl. Being usually on top of it, I ran Spybot -- Seach and Destroy and it caught the little bugger. (I regret that I didn't write down the name either, but it had 50 instances!) Turns out, the removal has caused a lot of new problems on my system.

1) On Windows startup, a programme Error appears stating that Fshttps or Fspc (or a number of other names with Fs in it)has had an error: "invalid page fault in module <unknown> at 0000:007647c7". The damned thing will keep appearing 3-5 times too.

2) Internet Explorer v. 6 will not start up without an error occuring and it automatically shutting down (I've tried to get Windows to repair it with no avail)

3) Something called a Runner Error appears that reads "Runner File name (fspex.exe) lacks a "-" (the app id separator).

I'm really thinking this is a lot of garbage to hide a virus or something, but I've virus scanned with several programmes, checked for trojans and worms, and spyware. I'm afraid that it might have to do with the Registry (and I've run Registry Mechanic).

Any ideas/suggestions will be much appreciated!!(besides using a sledge-hammer on the computer, which I'm seriously considering!!)

Cheers,
Nick

Are you running F-secure anti-virus on your system???

Rule #1 Good computers don't go down.
Rule #2 There is no such thing as a good computer.

Yeah I am. And (stupidly, I admit) I thought the Fshttps error was related to that, so I deleted the programme through its own uninstall. I also Add/Removed some components through Windows. It still comes up in the Sys-tray though... So you think that this could definitely be related? How else can I get rid of traces of the programme and start a-fresh?

Hi, I've disabled all the F-Secure entries in msconfig, and yeppers, it will boot up fine now.

How can I rectify IE6 though?
