I am currently using
Windows XP with Kaskersnky Antivirus installed in it. My computer got a virus which appears in the form of a new antivirus called PROANTIVIRUS. it makes alert messages repeatedly pop out into my screen saying that my computer has been infected and that i need to buy the antivirus to disinfect my computer. My curren anti virus Kaspersky tells me that file Rundll32.exe has been infected, and when i try to disinfect the computer, my antivirus wont do it for me. Because file rundll32.exe is infected i cannot open any programs at all. everytime i try downloading any other program to cleam my computer, after the download is complete i cannot open the program.
How can i disinfect the file if my current antivirus is unable to do it, and i cant use any other program because i cannot open them?
I am not really familiar with most of the files and how they really work. i do not know either how to find the running process, ther3efore, help will really be appreciated.
Thank you

You may need to download the to a usb drive or cd and run it on the infected computer but first try to run it from the infected computer.

Please download Rkill from the following link.

Rkill

Before we begin, you should disable your anti-malware softwares you have installed so they do not interfere RKill running as some anti-malware softwares detect RKill as malicious. This link will help you disable them:

Click on This Link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.

Double-click on Rkill on your desktop to run it. (If you are using Windows Vista, please right-click on it and select Run As Administrator)

A black screen will appear and then disappear. Please do not worry, that is normal. This means that the tool has been successfully executed.

If nothing happens or if the tool does not run, please let me know in your next reply
