Hi when I boot up my desktop I get a rundll32.exe error. I am thinking this is some sort of boot virus. It goes past the welcome screen and I hear the login sound and then I get the error. I am going to get a video of on youtube and post it. I hope I can get past this without reformatting.

There are alot of different programs that can make the rundll proccess occur. I wouldn't have thought it was a virus.
To stop the rundll message try clicking start > run... and typing 'msconfig' (without ' ').
Under the startup tab see what is next to 'rundll32' and post what it says. It is probably just a program that is having problems starting or something.

Did you see the video? I cannot get to windows to do msconfig. Watch the video again.

I am sorry if response 2 sounded rude. I was not trying to be rude. Its just that I put the video up and I thought people who see it would see it doese not boot to Windows just to that error message right after the welcome screen. BTW I do hear the login sound. I have slaved the drive to another computer and scanned for viruses and none was found. Also I ran Windows startup repair from HP recovery manager. I do not want to have to format the drive. Maybe someone else has an idea what could be wrong. I can try and get a better video up if I need to.

Well issue is resolved. No one would help so I ran the recovery. Nothing else I tried would work.
